Congratulations! If you’re reading this in real time, you are now almost 9 months into surviving a global pandemic. We all handle this kind of constant stress and virus-induced vigilance in different ways, but lately, I’ve been doing a full re-watch of The Office, from the very first season. I’m on season 6 currently. There’s something about the show that is just so relaxing and comforting (though obviously, hysterical). Once I committed to the re-watch, I knew I had to check out this podcast, hosted by the real-life actresses who played Pam and Angela. Each episode of the podcast correlates to an episode of the TV show, and they reveal behind-the-scenes information about the actors, set, props, writing, last- minute improvs, and anything else they can recall. They also bring on guests, like co-stars and producers. These include Creed Bratton (Creed), Rainn Wilson (Dwight), Mindy Kaling (Kelly), B.J. Novak (Ryan the temp), and John Krasinski (Jim--AKA my biggest celeb crush circa 2005-2013). They answer fan questions in every episode, so if you have any burning questions about episodes, you can email Jenna and Angela to get answers!

Each episode is always upbeat, hilarious, and fun, and the best part is that Angela and Jenna are real-life besties. Their chemistry is what makes this podcast so fun to listen to, and it’s heartwarming to hear how the entire cast are still like family to each other, even 7 years after the final episode aired. I suggest listening from the beginning, not only for the sake of plot points, but also because there are some running jokes and themes in the podcast--like how the entire cast was convinced that they would be canceled after a single season. You really need to be a super-fan of the TV show to appreciate and enjoy this show, so granted, it’s not for everyone. But if you ever loved The Office, you’re likely to love this fun, entertaining podcast!
