Spawned: Parenting for those not striving for perfection
The Premise (from Apple Podcasts): Hi, we're Liz Gumbinner and Kristen Chase of CoolMomPicks.com and parents to six kids between us, that we know of. We've got a microphone and more than the two minutes the Today Show gives us, and we're not afraid to use them. Join us (and some awesome celebrity guests) for candid parenting culture discussions, non-judgy (mostly) tips, and a good dose of humor, if we've had enough coffee. Which is always.⠀

Podcast Librarian’s Review:
Whenever I recommend this pod to people, I always give the following disclaimer: I’m not a mom, but I really enjoy listening to Spawned. Just from the title, you can already tell this is not your typical mommy-blog-turned-podcast. Liz and Kristen are hilarious, irreverent, and brutally honest about all the highs and lows of parenting. Clearly, I’m not the only one who thinks so because this pod has been going strong for 4 years. I hadn’t listened in a while, but I checked out a recent episode about how to deal with sanctimommies (that’s a portmanteau of sanctimonious + mommies) and how to curb your own judgey parenting tendencies, not that you have any 😜. I feel the sound quality and format of the show has really hit its stride from when I first started listening, and the chemistry of the hosts has always been a selling point. I like that they don’t agree about everything (because that would be boring), and even if they do think the same way about an issue, they will play devil’s advocate to try to see the other side. Every episode ends with their Cool Picks of the Week, which is anything (product, non-profit organization, tech, etc.) that has to do with kids or parenting and that the ladies are digging that week. Liz and Kristen obviously love giving recommendations (hi, I can totally relate), and they get so excited about their picks, so it’s a really fun, positive way to wrap up each episode. I highly recommend this to any parent (or non-parent) who wants to commiserate, celebrate all the great parts of parenting, and laugh about all the ridiculous stuff kids do!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
